Freeing up the neck to regulate the nervous system

The how and why...

In this 2h Yoga Immersion we explore techniques to release tension in the neck, shoulders and upper back using two principles. We use some eye exercises to free up the holding patterns in the sub-occipital muscle groups, and also find ways to create more compliant movement through the whole spine. When there is less holding in the neck and upper spine, blood flow to the brain is improved and the cranial nerves function better. This practice can create what might feel almost like a nervous system "re-set", stimulating a more balanced functioning of the Vagus Nerve.
